About GPR:
GPR is a cutting-edge startup that develops and sells proprietary Ground Penetration Radar as a localization sensor modality for autonomous cars, trucks, mining, construction, and more. ROLE
We're hiring a senior mechanical engineer with experience in the automotive or other high-reliability and high-volume manufacturing industry. This is a key role with a wide range of responsibilities in driving the design, manufacturability, and reliability of parts and assemblies for our systems.

• Have extensive knowledge of design for manufacturing fundamentals, and understand the trade-offs of various fabrication and assembly processes

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Design and develop the mechanical parts and assemblies for GPR systems
• Create CAD models and mechanical drawings
• Run mechanical simulation such as FEA, stack-up, tolerancing, and thermal analysis
• Support DVP/DVT efforts to validate designs
• Lead design for manufacturing efforts to improve manufacturability and drive down product costs
• Support rapid prototyping of new radar sensors and test platforms
• Manage the product BOM, and support CMs with fabrication and assembly process development
• Support customers to understand mechanical requirements and integration
Job requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other technical engineering field
5 years experience developing high-reliability commercial products
Experience with CAD tools such as Solidworks
Working knowledge of GD&T
Experience using simulation and analysis tools such as Ansys
Experience working with PLM tools such as OpenBOM
Experience with supporting CMs with engineering processes such as ECOs
Strong understanding of design for manufacturing fundamentals
Understanding of different fabrication, and assembly processes, and their trade-offs
Understanding of quality assurance methods such as DFMEA, FTA
Strong technical writing and communication skills
NICE TO HAVE
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other technical engineering field
Experience working with antennas and radar hardware
Familiarity with regulated standards for the automotive industry, such as ISO and SAE
Experience with bringing commercial products through DVT
Vehicle integration experience, especially autonomous vehicles
Ability and willingness to travel to customer and contract manufacturing sites up to 10% of the year
